Technalign, Inc. announces support for community editions with returns - Commercial
support of community editions Laramie, WY, January 24, 2008: Technalign, Inc. has announced they will provide support for community editions with returns. Technalign is now supporting other operating systems besides the commercial distributions of Pioneer Basic, Pioneer Stagecoach an Pioneer MigrationSERVER. The supported distributions are Debian Stable, MEPIS, Freespire, K/Ubuntu, Mint, Puppy, and CentOS Servers. Technalign will provide 5% back to each project. This does not include Freespire or Ubuntu. Freespire and Ubuntu percentages will be dropped into a fund. Some distributions have a company behind it such as Linspire or Canonical. With these companies the 5% will be placed into a pool and when that pool reaches $1,000.00 the community will have the ability to vote on what individual developer or project should be awarded the funds in one $500.00 and two $250.00 awards. A report will be published once a quarter of the support by distribution for people to see which distribution is getting the funds. Technalign will also document and share any issues found with the other communities, including any patches that are created at Technalign. Dianne Ursini, CEO,.. "We believe in giving back to the community with this effort by providing 5% back to community based projects and releasing any patches." Ursini adds, "This actually sets the stage for Technalign's next development project of Warrior." Technalign's Support Model can be found at http://technalign.org/support.html About Technalign
