TECHNALIGN, INC. RENAMES IT'S LINUX OFFERINGS TO TAFUSION FRONTIER POWERED BY MEPIS -
Products remain the same Delta,
CO, July 20, 2006: Technalign, Inc. has announced it is changing the name
of the Linux products it distributes from TaFusion MEPIS Linux to TaFusion
Frontier powered by MEPIS Linux. The new name is meant to emphasize that
Technalign, Inc. and MEPIS, LLC are two separate entities and that Frontier
is not a fork of MEPIS Linux. TaFusion
Frontier is based entirely on MEPIS Linux but it is a commercial line
of boxed products offering the additional benefits of 24x7x365 tech support,
corporate training, bundling with other products, and a growing network
of local dealers. Dianne
Ursini, CEO of Technalign, Inc. stated, “The new Powered by MEPIS will
appear on all documentation, packaging, media and websites. The new brand
strategy will integrate the most valuable assets of each company's identity.” Both
Technalign and MEPIS believe the new product names will make it easier
for customers to understand the product models and different software.
The transition to the new product names will occur over time and new products
and packaging being released will utilize the new branding. Partners and
distributors will be making a smooth transition over the next months. Warren
Woodford, CEO of MEPIS, LLC, stated, “We felt the need to clarify that MEPIS
Linux is still MEPIS Linux when you buy a product that is packaged and
distributed by Technalign, but also that Technalign offers unique added value
to their customers.” About
