shipping with the ogg open media format Delta, CO November 16, 2006: Technalign, Inc., today announced the low-cost Flare line of Portable Media Players (PMP), a giant step in the music player market space. The Flare is being released in three models: the Flare, the Flare mini and the Flare macro, named for the amount of features in a small unit. Technalign noted the units are compatible with Linux, Macintosh, and Windows computers. The Flare, with a 2 1/2-inch full color screen, allows customers to enjoy their favorite recorded TV shows, movies, home videos, music, games, and photos, and it even includes a camera on the compact, portable player. The Flare provides expansion using a Mini-SD card allowing unlimited storage options and offers the open "ogg" format for music with 8 hours of play time. The Flare mini and Flare macro are low cost but feature-rich media players with playback from MP3s to FM Radio. Each unit comes standard with 1 gig of storage. "Low-cost, feature rich portable media players are no longer limited," said Dianne Ursini, CEO of Technalign, Inc. "The Flare line of Portable Media Players offers an outstanding entertainment experience whether watching movies or recorded TV programming, and the Flare connects to car and home entertainment systems for true versatility." The Flare units will ship with Pioneer Linux, Technalign's latest version of the Linux operating system based on Ubuntu, providing Flare buyers the ability to experience open source software and an excellent Linux operating system on a live CD. The live CD lets users run Pioneer and learn Linux prior to installation to become comfortable with the operating system first. Support for Pioneer is provided by the Pioneer Linux community. Customers may also purchase a supported boxed set from a Technalign partner. "Compatibility is key to bringing digital music to the masses," said Peter A. Polus, President of Big Boy Distribution.Com. "Flare introduces a new level of compatibility, including the open ogg format. Thanks to Flare, consumers don't have to worry about technology when buying music," Peter added, "and the reason we chose the Flare line was that compatibility has such a tremendous value."
