near completion Cedaredge, CO, July 16, 2007: Technalign, Inc. announced today the release of Pioneer Explorer 1.0 Beta 2. Beta 2 is a self-booting Live CD originally based on Kubuntu that allows you to test the operating system before installation. Explorer includes additional wireless support out of the box for ease of use with many wireless adapters. The new Beta also provides a kernel with additional tweaks. The highlight of the Beta 2 release also includes additional changes to the Technalign repositories including Commercial, Backports, and Network Security (Crypto). The Beta is avaliable for download on the Pioneer Linux website at www.tapioneer.com. Lee Pepper, project manager for the Explorer build and direction, stated that the goal of building the new repositories will not only stabilize the product lines for many years, but also that it will provide a new direction for Technalign. Working with the University of Wyoming, Technalign and the interns coming from the University will set new directions requested by the community as well as Technalign's Partner network. Those running Pioneer Explorer 1.0 may upgrade there installation so a full reinstall is not required. Technalign will continue to maintain and track the Debian repositories to provide updates. Currently the repositories based on Debian Etch and Sid along with some Canonical applications, utilities, and drivers that are expected to be replaced as Technalign moves toward building its own set of packages.
